Lot 1618 George Mikan

Played for the Minneapolis Lakers (1947–56) of the National Basketball Association (NBA), and led them to five championships from 1949 to 1954. Mikan was a key figure in the rise of professional basketball. He subsequently became a lawyer and was later (1967–69) the first commissioner of the rival American Basketball Association. Color glossy 8 x 10 photo of Mikan in his Lakers uniform, signed in blue felt tip. In fine condition, with a trivial ding to top edge.
